Programming languages
needed?
Employers address the programming languages their future employees should know relatively rarely. These are mainly SQL (21.0 %), Java (13.0 %) and Shell languages like SH or Bash (8.3 %). Workers who will deal with databases in their new jobs need a knowledge of SQL. All other programming languages are mentioned only occasionally – Python, for instance, in 13 cases. Future IT specialists learn the basic principles of programming and programming languages during their training. Most likely, employers expect job seekers will know the most common or be able to quickly learn new languages if not. Significantly more employers describe which operating systems they use, and with which the specialists they seek should be familiar. In almost four out of ten cases, these are solutions from Microsoft. Linux-based systems are used slightly more often than other options (38.3 and 19.3 %).
